Students learned iambic pentameter and how to create poems using a specific rhyme scheme. A youtube video was shown in class to help with understanding. Students also looked at Sonnet #18 by William Shakespeare and discussed how to create Sonnets.
Students created their own sonnets for homework. Sonnets must have 14 lines, must follow iambic pentameter, and each line should be exactly ten syllables. The rhyme scheme should go as follows: ABAB CDCD EFEF GG Sonnets due next time. For more info on sonnets, please go here.
